I have written about this case on other forums. It's a fascinating case for the guilty/not guilty/guilty verdicts, as well as trying the same defendant in both superior and military courts.
I agree with Gary Eastburn that should Tim Hennis ever be executed, it's not more than he deserved. What he did to that family is beyond cruel.
One interesting tidbit: one of the Eastburns' teenaged babysitters wrote Jeffrey MacDonald in prison - the Green Beret who was convicted of killing his pregnant wife and two little girls 10 years after their 1970 murders. The murders, which MacDonald blamed on Manson-like hippies, also took place in Fayetteville, North Carolina and also involved a mother and two daughters, bludgeoning and stabbing.
